

Peacefully, at home as she wished, Betty Anne passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2014. Born June 6, 1930, in Montague, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Robert William and Margaret Beck. She was predeceased by brothers, Malcolm and Ralph; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Macintyre and Vera. She is survived by sister, Barbara (Paul) Jenkins, Charlottetown, PEI.
Betty Anne was a registered nurse by profession but her true vocation was as a loving wife of 60 years to Wilfred, devoted mother to sons, Randy (Donna), Mac (Lise), David (Gail), Jamie (Melody), Bill ((Shelley); doting grandmother with an abundance of affection for Jean-Marc (Solveig), Jamie, Jason, Lee, Elisabeth, Jonathon, CJ, Kenzi, Jenna, and Campbell. Betty Anne was a faithful friend to many and tireless volunteer.
The many organizations that benefitted from her involvement included Women for Music, Ronald McDonald House, Kiwanis Music Festival, and Birthright. Betty Anne was an avid bridge player and cherished her time with her small group at Halifax Christian Church of which she was a founding member.
Special thanks to VON Palliative Care and the Red Cross CCA’s for their assistance in taking exceptional care of Betty Anne.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 2-4 pm. Memorial celebration on Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 pm, both to be held in Halifax Christian Church, 51 Farnham Gate Road, Clayton Park. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made with appreciation to the Ronald McDonald House, Canoe Cove Christian Camp or a charity of your choice in Betty Anne’s memory.
