

Jackson, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Isabel (Muirhead), age 95 of Halifax passed away peacefully on April 1, 2016 in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary. Born in Westville, Pictou County, NS, she was a daughter of the late Murray and May (Cameron)Muirhead. She graduated from Normal College in Truro and following a brief teaching career, she worked with the Income Tax Department in Halifax. Betty loved to play cards, watch movies and loved music. Everyone loved her laugh. Betty was active for many years with the W.M.S. of the Baptist Church and was a Dominion life member of W.M.S. groups in Halifax, Charlottetown and Edmonton. Betty was also an active member of the Christian Womens’ Clubs. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leslie Jackson, children Barbara Foy, Cambridge, Paul(Louanne), Calgary, Gordon, Mississauga, Lorna Hume, Halifax, grandchildren Jamie(Trudy), Jon(Kim) and Angela and Jason( Maia) , greatgrandchildren Dylan , Autumn, Willow and Anthony. She was predeceased by her brothers Lloyd and Vincent and sisters Doris and Muriel and son-in-law, Roger Foy. A special thank you to the staff of 8.2 QEII for their compassionate care to Elizabeth and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Visitation will be held Thurs. April 7, 2016 from 1-3pm in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx B3S 0E1. A funeral service will be held Fri. Apr. 8 at 11am in Birch Cove Baptist Church, 50 Donaldson Ave. Hfx,, Pastor John Wilton officiating, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown.
