Ethel "Jean" Snow

Jean was born in Fort Pitt, Saskatchewan in 1924.

She was the daughter of the late David Evans and Mary Ann (Hollett) Evans.

She was a member of St. John's United Church.

She worked at Park Haven Estates, as Executive Housekeeper for many years.

Jean is survived by a daughter Marilyn, Mrs. Murray Greenwood of McKay Section, Hants County. Three sons, Edward Thorne, Toronto, Gary (Jean) Thorne of South Rawdon Road, Hants County and Ronald (Ann) Thorne of Whitby, Ontario. She is also survived by two sisters, Olive Wilson, Westbank, B.C. And Gertrude (Gertie) Simmons of Calgary, Alberta, 12 Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great grandchildren, and many much loved Nieces and Nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Frank Thorne, her second husband Arthur Snow, her sister Ellen (“Nellie”) Crocker, and her sister Ruby Hiltz.

There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Monday, July 11, 2011 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902) 455-0531. There will be a reception following the service. A private family burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Estates, later that day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
