Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Estella (Boutilier) and Thomas Oakley.
Everett was a bricklayer for 50 years . He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local No.1.
He is survived by his wife Margaret (Bliss); two daughters, Linda and Karen; one son, William, four sisters, Barbara, Sylvia, Rosalie and Nancy; four brothers, James, Gordon, Michael, and Thomas; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Julia and a brother, Joseph.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29th, 2-4 PM only, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
A Graveside Prayer Service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 PM in Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Carson Baxter officiating.
