

It is with great sadness the family of Frances Elizabeth (Beth) Morrison announces her sudden passing on August 21, 2018 after a brief illness.
Beth worked for 50 years in the insurance industry, beginning her career in Montreal, Quebec before moving to Nova Scotia to become the first female claims adjustor in the Atlantic region. She subsequently became a commercial lines underwriter before retiring in 2010. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother plus she was an avid sports enthusiast. She was active in soccer, both in playing and in coaching little ones, as well as baseball. She was an avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed her weekly 9 hole rounds at Brunello with her golfing buddies, Al Boudreau, Geordie Benight and Alfie Weagle.
Beth is survived by her loving husband Robert (Bob) W.D. Morrison of Timberlea, N.S.; daughters Kathryn (Robert) Riley of Eastern Passage, N.S. and Karyn Morrison of Charlottetown P.E.I.; grandsons Seth Morrison and Samuel Riley; sister Bonney (Ross) Halbert of Greenfield Park, P.Q.; brothers William (Ellen) Flipping of Eastern Ontario and Barry (Verena) Flipping of Red Deer, AB.. She was pre-deceased by her adoptive parents William and Catherine Flipping of Greenfield Park, P.Q. and her father-in-law William Duff Morrison for whom she cared very much.
At Beth’s request there will be no funeral service or visitation. Cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the Cardiac Care Units 6.4 and 6.1 for the outstanding care and compassion extended to Beth.
Donations in Beth’s memory may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the the Canadian Diabetes Association.
