— 82, of Halifax. It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle on February 25, 2010, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Frank was surrounded by his loving family as he passed on peacefully. Born in Halifax on March 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Harold and Mary (Bottomley) Shea. He is survived by his loving sons, Bill (Carmel) and Gary (Shelley) and daughters, Deborah and Colleen (Larry) Paschal; grandchildren, Melissa (Blake) Paschal Fisher, Kelsey Shea, Kirk Shea, Cole Shea, Brady Shea, all of Halifax. Frank is also survived by his brother, Mike and sisters, Joan (Clarence) Martin, Stella (Richard) Hoadley, Theresa (Ed) Bowden and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Priscilla (Breau) of 52 years; granddaughter, Crista Paschal; brothers, Harold, Bill, Kenny, Gerald, and George; loving foster parents, John and Ninnie Stone, Dan and Libby Beaton. Frank resided in Halifax his entire life and began working at the electrical trade in the early 1950's. In 1957 he began a 34 year career with Nova Scotia Light & Power. After many years as a lead electrician, Frank entered into the electrical inspection field in 1974 where he remained until his retirement in 1991 from Nova Scotia Power Corporation. During his time as an electrical inspector, Frank served as President of the Canadian Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Frank appreciated the respect he received from his peers based on his extensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. Frank was very committed to his faith and was a lifelong member of Saint Mary's Basilica where he was also a Minister of the Eucharist, served on Parish Counsel and enjoyed operating the church bingo for over 20 years. During his leisure time Frank very much enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Another of Frank's passions was his love of card games, especially cribbage. His greatest joys in life were the times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Frank was known for his unending willingness to put others ahead of himself. He will be remembered fondly, by many, for the generosity and time he gave helping others. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Mendenz, and the nursing staff, for the care they provided our father during his last days. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 28th at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 1, at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary's Cathedral Basilica on Spring Garden Road, Halifax, with Father Joe Christensen officiating. Private family interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or a charity of your choice.
