I wrote a note  and obviously made an error in transmission.  I was sad to see the remembrance today but it brought back such wonderful memories of Frank and his meetings with both my husband, Charles and me. Always so kind and meaningful.i am sure they continue to have the occasional chat and I know Charles is supporting me in my widowhood and trust Frank gives you a reminder of how much he is “with you”.

It was an honour to have known and worked with former Chief Beazley. He was always sincere in his  response to question but had that twinkle in his eye when the moment called for it. I first met Chief Beazley and his staff in 2009 when I started working at the HRP HQ as an RCMP employee due to it being an integrated office.  I  was immediately made to feel completely welcome and at home by them all and for that reason, my time there became one of the highlights of my working life. We all shared many laughs and good times and I'll never forget how kind and welcoming Frank was towards me.

It was always a pleasure to meet and work with Frank.  I represented the Dartmouth Police Service. We seemed to think the same way about most if not all issues that we had discussed or represented. I was so pleased when I learned that Frank had been appointed as the HRM Chief of Police. He was the right "gentleman" for that appointment at the right time.  I am unable to appropriately express such a high degree of regard that I had for him but to concur with all that has been stated in these obituary comments. Hello Beazley family, seventeen years ago Frank and Chris McNeil attended my only brother's funeral in Stewiacke, NS in full uniform. I have never forgotten that kind and thoughtful gesture especially given their busy positions in the two top positions of the Halifax Regional Police Force. All one has to do is read the tributes to Frank, to see how well regarded and  admired he was.. But, this comes as no surprise to the people who loved him most and knew him best.

My most heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the Beazley family at this time of grief and loss. 

It was my great honour to know Chief Beazley and work with him in the pursuit of justice within our community.  I first met the Chief from my Dad, Chief Butch Cogswell ( Retired, SJPF). Chief Beazley exemplified the sacrifice of public service and never lost his connection to his community roots. 

As a Crown attorney and a “cops daughter” I was immensely proud of Chief Beazley’s leadership.  

If there is one element that is common to all of Chief Beazley’s many tributes it is his commitment to our community. We all have our stories to share and mine is basketball related ( sort of). One year we were raising money to take a team of 12 and 13 year old boys from the Community “Y” in the North End to Newfoundland for the Eastern Canadian Championships.  Under the leadership of the Chief,  HRP raised well over half of our goal. He didn’t need any public accolades or recognition or awards. He just joined the “team” and did his bit. 

Again, my prayers are with you.

I worked with Frank  at the Dominion store in Spryfield. He was great to work with . Always had a joke to share with me. One of my fondest memories of Frank was when Prince Charles and Lady Di came to Halifax and they visited the Weston Hotel one evening. I was able to take a photo of Lady DI and Price Charles with Frank in it , as they passed by me. I had a breif conversation with Frank  just before they arrived . My deepest condolence to his family.

For all the accolades, the experience and the achievements associated with Frank, the most notable to me was how well-rounded and balanced this man was.  He was Chief of Police for much of the time we worked together but he could have been anything, in any role. It was hard to tell with Frank. He was the Chief. But he listened and took notice of everything,  as he knew it mattered in the end.  All this wrapped in a funny and delightful guy. We all benefitted from his thoughtfulness and his ownership of the whole thing. Of all life. 
His family was so so important but we all mattered.  He cannot be replaced for many of us but it is hard to imagine the immense gap he leaves for his family.

Dear Ann, Andrea, Sheree and Cyril;                                                                                                 my wife Mary, and I, were shocked to say the least when I through habit, turned on the 12:00 Noon news on CTV Thursday November 25th, and viewed Frank’s Picture on the screen, Re: his passing. 
When talking to Andrea on Wednesday the 24th, she mentioned that Frank was going into palliative care, whereas his health had deteriorated quickly. I was planning to pay a visit the evening of the 25th, but .. Didn’t get the opportunity, his passing was so sudden. A complete shock!!!
Frank, Ann, and I, knew each other when they were only dating, and that wasn’t yesterday (smile). They loved each other dearly and forever, and throughout life the ideal couple.  
When I was informed of Frank’s Cancer, we were in contact by phone on a fairly regular basis during his treatments, Every Monday evening, I would ask all my Listeners on Seaside FM Radio, to keep Frank in their prayers, and thoughts, so that he may survive from this ordeal, and go in remission. Apparently the good Lord had other plans, he needed him to come home (Heaven), more than we needed him here on earth.
Frank was a good man, a good friend, and a wonderful person, who will be sorely missed not only by myself, his Family, his Community and friends, but all who really knew him for the man he was. Frank’s spirit and goodness will remain in our hearts always. Looking forward to meeting the Family at the service on December 1st, 11:00 am.

Frank was a good high school friend.  I have fond memories of Frank as a teenager and in adult life.  I had a lot of kids come to my house and Frank was one of those kids my folks liked to see.  Like all young people, we liked a good time.  We had lots of fun going to dances at the Olympic Gardens,  “ The Dirty O”, as we liked to call it, The Leghorn, and the Shangri La.  I can still see Frank doing his smooth moves. He added lots of fun to those dances.  Frank was one of the good guys, for sure. Read of Frank's passing and send my best regards. From the neighbourhood, to city events I spoke with Frank on many occasions. He was the Police Chief and one of the most important people in the room but he was still the neighbourhood Constable down to earth guy. He was always in a cheerful 'that is the way life is' mood. After his retirement, at events and at Cosy Restaurant on Liverpool Street we were able to chat about the happenings of the city, Saint Patrick's Church and mutual friends. Even a few stories on our medical journeys with positive comments on the work of the medical profession. Every meeting  brighten the day. These are the memories I wanted to share.

Frank and I shared many good times and adventures, playing together as children. We each took career paths that involved community service. His police  service and myself fire service.  Frank was not only my first cousin, but also a lifelong best friend. Today we honour a great man and friend to many, to myself he was more like a brother since childhood and I loved him dearly, my heart is broken and I feel your pain and lost.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Frank's illness and consequently his passing. Our very deepest sympathies go to Ann and his extended family.
As former CAO for HRM, I had the extreme pleasure of working with Frank for many years in his various roles, and in particular as Chief of Police . He was a strong, reliable and contributing  member of HRM's senior management team.  We worked well together in addressing  many issues with Frank always displaying  professionalism and commitment to making Police Services a better working environment.
 He was well respected within the Police  department and indeed, throughout all of HRM.  A true gentleman and an excellent person to work with. 
Frank  achieved  a great deal  in his lifetime throughout his career and his love for family.  Now it is time to rest and be at peace, Frank.  It was truly a pleasure to have known you.

Frank was my colleague for many years on the senior management team at HRM.  You could ask for no better team mate.  He was inspiring to work with because of his professionalism and integrity.  
He spoke with me many times about his family, and family was obviously his pride and joy.

Frank will always be remembered as a strong, loving presence who lit up any room he entered. We were lucky to get to know Frank, Ann and family over the years who treated us like an extension of their own family. 

Frank was always supportive, caring and genuine. You will be missed, but your presence will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and glory.

I am so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. He was such a lovely and gracious man, and I know how difficult the days and weeks ahead will be. You will both be in my prayers. I wanted to include this photo. I took it in 2008, at Grampy's house in White's Lake, just before his funeral. It's still, to this day, one of my favourite photos in my collection. I love that it incorporates the strength and nobility of the uniforms, the unity of the three different policing entities (HRP, CSIS and Ottawa Police Service), and the pride and happiness of our family being together, even on such a sad occasion. Grampy would have been so happy to see Frank and Brian in uniform that day! Funny story... Frank said to Brian the night before, "Did you bring your full dress with you?" and Brian said, "Yes sir, I did." Frank said, "Are you going to wear it?" And Brian said, "Well sir, if you think I should, and it's appropriate, I will." And Frank said, "Listen, if I have to wear MY full dress uniform, then you have to wear YOURS." And laughed. Brian smiled and said, "Yes sir. I'll be in full dress for the funeral." And he was. So taking this photo was a very special moment for both my husband and I, and I cherish it.
God bless you both, and I will be thinking of you on Wednesday.

Dear Ann and family.  My very sincere condolences to you all in the passing of such a fine gentleman.  I always remember his great smile and words of wisdom and especially the time he spent with mom before and after her illness.   My fond memories of Frank will always remain in my heart forever.  Please know that I will be holding you all up in prayer during this difficult time.  Mom has probably opened the gates of heaven herself to usher Frank in and have a good chat!  Know that we love you all ❤️
