

WYATT, Freda Edna B. — 92, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully March 24, 2010, in Parkland Estates, Halifax. Born in Windsor Junction, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian (Lee) Parnell. Freda lived in Halifax for many years and was a faithful member of St. Phillips Anglican Church and the A.C.W. She was a homemaker who loved baking, needlework, and caring for her plants, her favorite being the African Violet. In their retirement, Freda and her late husband, Verne also enjoyed traveling in their motor home. Freda spent many enjoyable summers in her trailer at Sherwood Forest Campground, Coldbrook. For the past 21 years, she had lived with her daughter Faye and family in Dartmouth, and was a dedicated member of St. Luke's Anglican Church in Dartmouth. Freda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Faye (Glenn Murphy); sons, Warren (Lorraine Jones), Charles (Barbara Judge), John (Marie Samson); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Freda was predeceased by her husband, William Verne "Babe"; sisters, Margaret (Meta) Dyer, Violet Boutilier, Thelma Davidson, Frances May, Olive Sheehen; brothers, George Parnell, Douglas Parnell, and daughter-in-law, Marsha. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 27, at 3 p.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Veteran's Avenue, Dartmouth, Rev. Carolyn Tomlin officiating.
