Dear Fred's Family
I just this day learned this sad news.  I had no idea.  I had the privilege of playing Monday night hockey with Fred for over twenty years.  Playing with him on Mondays was a joy to me.  We had so many laughs.....I look forward to pick-up with him again.  I am so sorry for your loss.  john

Sincere condolences to Fred's family.  We spent a lot of time together at the Centennial Arena in the days of roller skating and I always thought highly of Fred; one of the nicest, most sincere people I have ever met.  Farewell, amigo.

From across the Ocean and Arabian Sea, I am sending condolences and hugs to all the family and his close friends. There are really no words to describe how terribly shocking Fred's passing is. I want to extend heartfelt condolences to Fred' Mom and Dad, his sisters and spouses, and especially to my sister-in-law Charlene and my nephew Jeff. It breaks my heart I lost a brother-in law and friend, but you have lost so much more; he truly adored both of you. I cannot be there to help shoulder some of the pain, however, I do have some solace in the fact that my wife, Charlotte made the journey to be with her twin sister Charlene. It has been an agonizing week and the next few days will be the most painful...the goodbye.

Fred certainly made an impact and left his mark in his community for sure in so many ways, and that is evident in the outpouring of love and support of his colleagues, family and friends.

 For that Fred, you should rest easy knowing there are so many people who loved you and your family, and will be there to support them in this tough and tragic time.

The news of Fred's passing knocked the wind out of my sails when I read his obituary this morning. I met Fred many years ago at Centenial arena during our minor hockey days. He was a fierce competitor & as a goalie  I feared the games against Freddie Pope & the Fairview Aces. Later in life, we became class mates at Halifax West High School. He had an infectious smile back then & I see by the many photos, Fred never lost that wonderful attribute. I didn't know Fred in his adult life but I can tell, from reading the wonderul tributes, he turned out to be a great husband, father, friend & bussiness man. This is such a tragic loss, Please accept my deepest & sincere condolences.

Denise and I are at a loss for words at Freddie's sudden passing.  It is hard to comprehend that he is no longer with us.
