Gail was the eldest child of Hilton Willis Love and Mildred Florence Noble. In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her step-father Alfred Tommy; sister Brenda Love and brother-in-law Patrick Healy; and brother Terrance Love.
Gail is survived by her sister Pam Love; brother Greg Love [Pauline]; step-sisters Debra Tommy (Boris) and Diane Tommy (William); nieces Karry Moio (Colin), Amanda Love (Kevin), and Michelle Love (Jérémie); nephew Sean Healy [Madison]; and sister-in-law Yvette Love.
Gail was born and raised in Fredericton, where she attended high school and the University of New Brunswick before working in PEI and Ottawa as a research assistant. Gail eventually made her way to Halifax, where she laid down roots and started her career as a flight attendant with Air Canada. Gail travelled extensively after university and even more while a flight attendant. She was a lifelong learner and retirement brought opportunity to further pursue a passion for knowledge. For many years, Gail attended classes through the Senior College Association of Nova Scotia [SCANS] and was a regular visitor to the Halifax Public Library, creating a reading list on a wide variety of topics. She was a long-time member of the Waegwoltic Club where she enjoyed swimming. Going for a morning walk or finding new recipes to try out were simple pleasures that brought Gail joy and satisfaction. Gail’s quiet and thoughtful demeanour endeared her to family and friends. She has enriched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. If you wish to honour Gail, please consider making a donation to the Halifax Public Library.
