George Kenneth Wheeler

George Kenneth Wheeler, age 70 of Halifax passed away July 6, 2014. Born in London, ON, he was the son of the late Winnifred (Lane) Wheeler and George “Goldie” Wheeler. George joined the RCAF in 1963. He was proud to serve his country throughout his 30 year Military Police career. Prior to retiring in 2000, he worked with the Canadian Corp of Commissionaires in Goose Bay, Labrador. He loved his motorcycles, a good day on the golf course, his RVs, his 3 and 4 legged family and the warm sun of Florida in February. Friends and family will miss his endless repertoire of corny jokes.

Survived by his wife, Joan (Bradley) Wheeler; sons, Roger, James; stepson, Martin; sister, Ann Romyn; brother, Bill Wheeler; grandchildren, Erik, Liam, Bennett and Jessica; aunt, Hilda Lane, Lucknow, ON.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the ALS Society of Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia SPCA.

Family and friends will be gathering at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531), on Sunday, July 13 from 2-4 pm to remember and celebrate our beloved George. Interment will take place in Belgrave ON at a later date.
