

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gerald (Gerry) Raymond Hiltz on June 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the VG Hospital at the age of 63. Gerald was born to Gerald and Beryl (Morreau) Hiltz.
Gerry worked at CFB Halifax Dockyards for 35 years in ship repair and finished his career as a marine blacksmith. He was very passionate about his work and enjoyed the comradery of his peers.
Lovingly remembered by his wife, Suzanne “Suzie” (Mercer) Hiltz; sons, Wayne (Linda), Charlie (Carla); his grandchildren, whom he adored, Hannah, Kaitlin, Madison, Connor, Grace, Abigail, Isabelle and Jack; mother, Beryl Hiltz; siblings, Harold ”Bucky” (Sandra), Betty Ann (Billy Young), Linda (Doug Boutilier), Carolyn (Paul Scanlon), Marion (Royal Hobbs), Glenn (Norma).
His family in laws, Everest Collier (Marina), Mary And Cecil Ryan, Bob And Gertie Mercer, Patricia and Lawrence Hoffman, Walter and Donna Mercer, Frances and Bill Mason, Elaine and Bob O’Quinn, Kathleen and Keith Hann, Theresa and Jim McCarthy, Marion and Tom Cutler, Charlie and Roxanne Mercer, Ben Mercer, Pam and Ron Parsons. His special friends Ann and Lewis Cruikshanks. A large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his father, Gerald; brothers, Reginald "Reggie" and Wayne.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 19, in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531) from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
Funeral service Friday, June 20 at 11 am in Snows Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of NS or charity of choice.
A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the VG Hospital especially at the Cancer Centre.
