

Born in Concession, N.S. he was the son of the late Emile and Grace (Melanson) Gaudet.
Giles was a well-loved business man who had an extensive involvement with the community. As a former business owner and county councilor, he met and helped many people and families. He loved people and was adored by all who met him.
Giles was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past member of the local Lions Club.
He was a physical education teacher and later in life followed his dream and became a restaurant and bar owner of both the Rusty Anchor and the Derby Tavern, where he had many friends.
Giles loved music and was a self-taught piano player. He also enjoyed oil painting. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying with friends in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife: Dianne (Levangie); sons: Gary, Todd (Karen), Claude (Sherry Lynn); daughters: Jeannine (Richard) Shirley, Jocelyn (Darrell) Greenwood; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Luc, Anna, Alex, Laura, Carrie, and Adam; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents; and siblings: Alphonse, Raymond, Yvonne, Frances, Benedict, Theodore, and Victor.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00am in Saint Joseph’s Church (part of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish), 3709 Prospect Rd, Shad Bay.
