

She was a past member of St. Lawrence Parish, Fairview and a past member of the Children of Mary. She was a member of The Friendship Club and enjoyed her weekly Church tea and socials. Mum enjoyed entertaining her friends at home. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, aunt and friend. Her life was of love, value and commitment to all which was expressed by her generosity, kindness, understanding and devotion to all. She was a model of strength and of determination in facing her many challenges during her lifetime. She touched many hearts and was an inspiration to all.
Left behind to mourn her are daughters; Mary Saulnier (Ed), Margaret “Margie” McDonald (Tom), Halifax; son, John “Bud” St. Clair (Irmah), Dartmouth; son-in-law, Barry Siddle and daughter-in-law, Anna. 16 Grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Allan R. Lavers and John B. St. Clair, son; Donald and daughter Heather A. Siddle; sisters, Mary Teasdale, Margaret Tory, Monica Ellsworth, Mildred Gouthro and Olive Gray; brothers, Charles “Bert”, Joseph, Jerome, Harold and Basil. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. For the past three plus years, Mum resided at Melville Nursing Lodge. We wish to express our gratitude to the many caregivers, nurses and staff for making Mum’s home away from home! You treated her with love, respect for which we will never forget. May Gob Bless each and all! Visitation Sunday, February 17th from 6-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A celebration of Mum’s life will be Monday, February 18th at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Dunbrack and Radcliffe Drive, reception to follow. Cremation following the mass. There will be a family burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart or Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
