
MACLEOD, Gordon Stewart – 69, passed away suddenly on March 17, 2012. Born in Halifax, he was the only son of Lilian (Babs) MacLeod and the late Roderick MacLeod. Gordon lived his younger years in Newfoundland and Canso, and his adult life in Halifax. He graduated from Ryerson University and had a rewarding career with Parks Canada in Halifax, Gros Morne and Grand Pre, and in retirement was a part-time courtesy driver with Volvo. Gordon spent many enjoyable years working and developing friendships at the Maskwa Aquatic Club where he is a life member. He loved to design and build and took great pride in anything he made. Gordon lived a busy life and spent as much time as possible outdoors, fishing with his Dad as a boy, camping, canoeing, sailing, golfing, skiing and gardening. He also enjoyed cars and painting. He was a regular blood donor, reaching 129 donations. He is survived by his mother, sister, Heather (Gerald Latta), and special nephew, Darren Brenton. Also, special cousins in Newfoundland, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and England. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. By request, there will be no visitation. A family graveside service will be held in Antigonish at a later date. Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Maskwa Aquatic Club, P.O.
