

79, of Halifax, recently of Arborstone Enhanced Care, passed away on May 7, 2015. Born in Broad Cove, Lunenburg Co., he was the son of the late Pearl and Clifford Borgel. Harley was a technician for Burrough’s Business Machines, which had him travelling around to businesses in Nova Scotia. He also dabbled in Real Estates Sales with Century 21. In 1977, he and his wife Eileen opened “House of Fabrics” and “Yarns Plus” in the Woodlawn Mall, Dartmouth. In 1996, they both retired and moved to Enfield. Harley enjoyed model trains, playing cards, following the financial markets and puttering around the outdoors.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin (Janet), Hammonds Plains; Darin (Christine), Dartmouth; sister, Betty (Ron) Antigonish; brothers-in-law, Claude (Mary Lou), Albert (Anne), George (Dorothy), and grandson, Jeffrey. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 10 at 2:00 pm, also at Snow’s Funeral Home followed by a reception. Interment in the Columbarium, St. John’s Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
