

Heather Nicks (Healy) 1940 – 2014. Mom passed away peacefully at noon, September 16, 2014, at Parkstone Nursing Home in Halifax. Heather was born in Halifax, the daughter of Marguerite and James Healy. She married Wayne Nicks on July 1, 1966.
Heather is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, and their children and spouses, Nancy (Paul) and Ronnie (Kelly); her granddaughter, Peyton, Nanny’s little angel, and her sisters, Marguerite Caines and Gertrude “Trudy” Lenihan.
Heather enjoyed a long career working in pay and benefits and arranging retirement seminars for the Federal Government. She loved to read and play Scrabble and Bridge and developed an interest in golf during retirement. She loved to play the piano and hosted many parties where family and friends gathered around the piano to sing.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902-455-0531) with a celebration of Heather’s life to be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 11 am in the Snow’s Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of NS. The Nicks family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Parkstone staff for their compassion and care.
