

MacDonald, Ian J. R. Age 70, suddenly passed away June 15, 2014, in QEII Hospital in Halifax, with his wife Ida MacDonald by his side. He was born in Moncton, NB. Ian was employed with Sobey’s for over 15 years. In his younger years, he volunteered his time with the youth in baseball and hockey. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the St. Lawrence Bowling League for over 30 years. Ian is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ida (LeBlanc) as well as his children, Jason (Christine), Boston, Matthew (Haley), Moncton; grandchildren, Abby, Ella, Jacob, Seth, Jonah; mother-in-law, Eleanore LeBlanc. Predeceased by step son, Michael Ewing.
Ian was a humble man who was able to find joy in the simple things in life, conversation with friends, discussing hockey and baseball. He was an avid Moosehead fan. The family will miss Ian’s up-to-date sports results. Ian will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531).
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 19, at 2 pm not 1:00 pm as was listed in the paper.
