Jacob was born September 27, 1998, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He graduated from C.P. Allen High School and made a career working as a Longshoreman and was a proud union member of ILA Local 269.
He was taken away from us way too soon. For those that knew him well knew him as a gentle giant, quick to defend others, and supported anyone in need. He believed in honesty, hope, and happily ever afters. He was passionate, fun loving, and searched for a deeper meaning in life through his self-learnings. He loved getting tattoos and showing them off while smoking the tires off his car.
Jacob had posted this song recently on social media.
The lyrics were;
“If I die young, I promise I will be okay. Nobodies meant to live infinite days. But I’m hopeful that when it’s my time to go, I’ll bring a smile with me to the grave. I hope I find the happiness I crave. I hope my heart is something I can save. Life is a journey, I’m grateful that I have the chance to live and then learn from the pain”.
We believe Jacob was in a happy place when he passed. We know that wherever Jacob is he is truly loved and at peace.
His Motto in Latin was: Veni, Vidi, Vici. This translates in English to; I came, I saw, I conquered.
A gathering to celebrate Jacob's life will be held on Sunday November 20 from 2-5pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Fond memories and stories will be shared at 3pm. There will be a livestream beginning at 3pm for those who wish to join Jacob's family virtually.
