PROUDE, Jacquelyn Rita, 65, of Timberlea, passed away May 25, 2011, at home. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Jack and Rita Doyle. Jacquelyn came from a musical family. Her father, Jackie Doyle, was the former pianist for the Don Messer Band. Her husband of 38 years, Garth Proude, was the original bass player for Anne Murray and worked on the Sing-a-long Jubilee television show. Her other hobbies and passion included landscape and interior design. She had the marvelous ability to create a desirable curb appeal to their homes. This often led to a lucrative sale leading her on to the next design project. Jacquelyn is survived by her husband, Garth Proude; daughter, Cheryl Proude; son, Trevor Proude; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Bettylou Guindon and Marilyn Jorgensen. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held one hour before service time on Sunday, May 29, 2011. Memorial service will be held Sunday, May 29, at 4p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Burial at a later date.
