James Reginald Wigglesworth

We, the family of James Reginald Wigglesworth, wish to announce his passing on Monday, July 15, 2013 at the VG Site, in Halifax. Jim courageously, fought the battle of cancer over the last thirteen months and was always trying to protect others along this difficult journey. Jim was born in Liverpool, NS, to the late Reginald and Doris Wigglesworth. He retired after spending many years with Wallace, MacDonald and Lively in Bedford, NS. Cherished husband to Bette Ann (Manthorne) and dearest father to Todd (Kate) and Tara (Ron) Hines. We are all profoundly saddened by our loss – Jim was such a wonderful, gentle and loving person to all who knew him. Leaving behind to mourn are also his sisters Sally (Robert) Fader, Peggy (Al) Anderson, Sherri (Walter) Miller, and Patricia; brother Murray (Myrna) Wigglesworth; brother-in-law David (Sheila) Manthorne. Forever loved and cherished by his 6 grandchildren, Kali, Rees, Georgia, Justin, Logan and Grace, and many nieces and nephews. His grandchildren were the pride of his life and always knew how much they were loved by their dear “Papa Wiggy”. He will always be remembered for his enthusiasm for sports – most recently baseball with the Bedford Brown’s and his senior’s basketball league. The passion he shared for geocaching was unmatched, along with his love for biking, hiking, fishing, genealogy, photography, and trains. A special thank you to our dear friends Carolyn and Bob Kunz and Dolores Mitchell. We will never forget the love and support you bestowed upon us from the beginning to the end of the most difficult journey of our lives. A “forever thank you” from our entire family.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, B3S 0E1, on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm. Burial to take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
