

It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanne Elizabeth Breckenridge, 74, of Tantallon and formerly Halifax, announces her passing on Tuesday February 13, 2018, at Parkstone Enhanced Care Facility with family and caring staff at her side.
Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Lorne Park, Mississauga, she was the daughter Hillary and Elizabeth (Burt) Clarkson.
Jeanne was loving and kind woman. She devoted her life to nurturing her family and teaching her students microbiology at Mount Saint Vincent University and Dalhousie University. She obtained a BSc in biochemistry from Queen’s University (1965) and an MSc in Microbiology from Dalhousie University (1992). Jeanne loved the outdoors and was happiest spending time with family while gardening, walking in the woods, skiing, and swimming in St Margaret’s Bay and Georgian Bay.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William Carl Breckenridge; daughters, Heather (Bruce) Piercey, Stillwater Lake, NS and Catharine (David) Flynn, Manchester, NH; son, David (Indrani) Breckenridge, San Mateo, CA; beloved grandmother to Jared, Courtney, Owen, Ryan and Ishaan; sister, Mary (John) Hamilton, London, ON and extended family.
We are very grateful to the staff of Sullivan’s Lane, Parkstone Enhanced Care facility, who provided compassionate and exceptional care for Jeanne.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A public visitation will occur at 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, February 17th. A private ceremony will occur on Monday, February 19th at 10:00 a.m.
