

Hureau, Jeannette M., Parkland Estates Halifax passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, May 10 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Arichat Cape Breton, she was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Goyetche) Hureau. She was a retired employee of the Royal Bank of Canada, had taught school in Cape Breton and worked for the Federal Government Department of Fisheries. She was a member of the St Agnes Roman Catholic Church, the Children of Mary and the Catholic Women's League. She had a strong and faithful relationship with our Lord. Although she did not have children of her own, her life was spent caring for other family members from which she derived great happiness and joy. Jeannette was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her two nephews-Gerald (Isabelle) Theriault, Halifax and Carroll (Nancy) Leblanc, Ottawa; five nieces-Corrine (Lorenzo) Boudreau, Arichat, Regena (Norm) Atkinson, Ontario, Helen (Tony) West Arichat, Simone Leblanc, Halifax and Donna (Don) Lystra, Ann Arbour, Michigan; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 12 from 6-8 PM at J.A. Snow Funeral Home Lacewood Drive, Clayton Park. Funeral mass to take place on Friday May 13 at 10 AM at St Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Rev John Williams officiating. Burial to take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
