PARKE, John (Jack) Simpson – 87, passed peacefully at home in Halifax surrounded by his family on Monday, March 28, 2016. Born in Toronto, he was the son of the late John Parke and Elizabeth (Kerrigan) Parke. Jack was a graduate of the University of Toronto in civil engineering. His long and successful engineering career took him to locations across Canada as well as internationally with a specialty in dredging, bridges and dams. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years Margaret (Work), sister Peggy (Ron) Butcher, daughters Wendi (James) Snow and Sue Parke (Ray Leno), son John (Terri), and granddaughters Katie and Jacqueline Snow and Melissa and Kristie Parke. Jack was predeceased by sisters Patricia (Alex) Dalrymple and Annie Lawrie, both of Toronto. Cremation and a private family celebration of his life have already taken place.
