John Joseph "JP" Protheroe

Protheroe, John Joseph "JP" - 82 of Halifax, NS passed away surrounded by family and the extraordinary caregivers in Northwood Centre, February 2, 2013. Born in Montreal in 1930 he was a son of the late Fred and Mary (Kelly) Protheroe. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. John was a nature lover, it was his God. He took every opportunity to take his family camping in his spare time. He loved to fish. He is survived by his loving and most dedicated wife Shirley (Oakes). Daughter Donna and Son Gregg, Halifax, sisters Mary Brunelle (Montreal) and Pat Koome (London, Ontario) and grandchildren Holly, Jamie and Ryan. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

John was a gentle soul and he will be greatly missed

Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow funeral home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Thursday Febuary 7/2013 from 5pm -7pm.

A family service will be held at a later date when all the family can be together.

Donations in John's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Northwood. You cared for John like family. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
