

Joseph Blair Taylor, 55, Halifax, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care unit, QEII on June 17th, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and was the son of the late Bill and Peggy (Jessome) Taylor of Antigonish. He is survived by his wonderful daughter Jacqueline of Halifax, two sisters, Diane Cunningham (Bob) Antigonish and Sandra Taylor (Lorne Wall) Clyde River, Shelburne Co., two brothers, Bob (Darlene) Moncton and Peter (Carolyn) Antigonish, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael in 1975.
Joe graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He was employed by Halifax Regional Municipality for 30 years. He started as a summer student and advanced to a Supervisory position within Municipal Operations, streets and roads section. Joe was a dedicated employee and greatly valued the camaraderie with his co-workers. His interests included billiards, music, photography and the outdoors. Joe’s pride and joy was his daughter Jacqueline. Joe will be remembered for his upbeat spirit, wit, common sense approach and positive attitude.
His family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. White, the staff of the VG Hospital, Halifax, especially the Hematology and Palliative Care units, for their care during his illness.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, 445-0531. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, from 5-7 PM with memorial service at 7 PM. Burial will at a later date in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
