Joyce Gosby

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Joyce Athilda Gosby on May 6, 2015 at the QEII. Born in Guysborough, Guysborough County NS, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Wilda Williams. She worked at a young age at the VG hospital site, married, and stayed at home with her two children until she returned to the work force at MSVU until retirement.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Barry Nooyen) of Lower Sackville; son, Wesley Jr. (Peggy) of Lower Sackville; sisters, Rena Casey (Stephen-predeceased) of Halifax, Violette Porter (Scott) of Bedford, Karen Greencorn (Donald) of Guysborough, Patricia Andrews (Bernie) of Guysborough; brothers, Lawrence Williams (Vivian) of Greenwich, Albert Ameriault (Elaine) of Ontario; grandchildren, Jennifer, BJ (Barry John), Amanda, Brandon, Mathew and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband, Wesley, parents; sister Vivian, brothers Leslie and Hiram. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family would like to thank all those who took part in her support and care over the last year especially her loving sisters Rena and Violette, and close neighbours that looked in on her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the diabetes association.
