I was so sorry Shawn to learn of Joyce’s passing and extend my sincere sympathy to you, Ann and entire Whynot family. I enjoyed talking to Joyce on many occasions at Bethany and will miss her.

Having known Joyce for many years as part of our family, I will remember her good heartedness, her style and flair for entertaining guests, her graceful decorum, and her faithful attention to her family. I remember in particular how helpful Joyce was offering professional advice when someone was ill. Joyce was observant and thoughtful and made time for everyone. She will be missed.

Dear Richard and Family,

No Christmas party or potluck was complete without your Mom!  She had such presence and joy d vivre, but also was always interested in how others were doing.   

After my mom passed, Joyce often called and those chats helped me get through that difficult time.   I will always cherish her memory in my heart.

Your Mom is so proud of you. I know Catherine fought for her tooth and nail too and Shawn, your Dad, ALL the family is so strong and did everything they could to demand the best care. Well done. No less painful for you, I know, but Richard she was an independent woman in many ways and left this earth on her own terms. You will see her again. I love you. My family sends our deepest sympathies for the loss of this very special lady.

I have known Joyce,  Dick and  family for over 50 years as former neighbors and great friends. I travelled with them in Florida several times and around 1984 had one memorable trip with Joyce to Egypt. Joyce was a wonderful cook and hostess, always generous with time for her friends. She had the sparkle to help keep a party going. Always stylish, she regularly brought in a large number of outfits from Rita's in Wolfville, and after choosing those she wanted, since I was the same style, I got to try and buy from the others. Shopping from home before the concept was otherwise known! She was a wonderful, very respected Halifax pharmacist whom my family and I often relied on for her medical help and guidance and several of my friends came to do the same. My sincere condolences and affection to Dick, Richard, Shawn and Catharine.
