It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Dianne Snow (Judy) on October 11, 2025, at the age of 75 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, after facing ovarian cancer with remarkable strength, courage, and grace.
Born to Raymond Wagner and Margaret (Grimm) Wagner Wilcox, Judy lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, friendship, and community. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Snow, as well as by her parents and stepfather, Curtis Wilcox.
Judy was a devoted mother to Nancy Snow (Andrew Stenhouse) and Craig Connolly, and a proud grandmother to Lilly Stenhouse, who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sister Elaine (Eric) Pace, brother John (Marge) Wagner, sister-in-law Sheila Snow, and beloved nieces and nephew: Joanne (Pace) MacGillivray, Julie Ann Stienburg, Toni Minichiello, and Greg Pace.
For much of her life, Judy was a stay-at-home mom, a role she embraced with love until the age of 41. She later found fulfillment in her work at the Camp Hill Gift Shop, where she volunteered for seven years as a buyer and decorator, and in fashion retail at Colwell’s and The Village Green, where she formed lasting friendships with many of her loyal customers and colleagues.
She enjoyed curling at the Halifax Curling Club, golfing at Ashburn, and spending time at The Quarterdeck on Summerville Beach, a cherished place she shared with family and friends since 2004. Judy was known for her warmth, her love of hosting dinner parties, and her deep appreciation for the little moments, especially her daily morning phone calls with her sister Elaine and her best friend Libby. These conversations were part of the fabric of her life, filled with laughter, love, and support.
Judy had a gift for making people feel seen and valued. The friendships she nurtured and sustained over the years were remarkable and reflected the depth of her care and her generous spirit. Even in her final year, she met each day with gratitude, positivity, and grace — and carried a sparkle in her eyes right until the end.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Humphrey, Dr. Bentley, Jessica, Talia, and the exceptional teams at the Cancer Clinic, the staff on 3B at the VG Hospital, and especially those at Hospice Halifax, whose care and compassion made Judy’s final days comfortable and safe.
A very special thank you as well to the circle of friends who provided care, support, and companionship throughout this past year, your presence meant the world.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, from 4–6 p.m., with a funeral service on Tuesday, October 21, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception, all at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Halifax in Judy’s memory.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
