Judy Webber Casey

CASEY, Judy Isabel (Webber) - 65, Halifax, passed away peacefully in her daughters arms on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Born on December 12, 1945, she was the youngest daughter of the late Hall and Mary Webber (Martin). Judy attended the Oxford Street School, St. Patrick’s High and Halifax Vocational School where she earned her bookkeeping certificate. She the worked for Physicians’ Services at VG for 16 years and later at the Joseph Howe Superstore where she retired in 2007. Judy loved bingo, but most of all she enjoyed spending every moment doting on the center of her world, her grandson, Logan. She is survived by her only child, Denise (Troy) Danells, Halifax; grandson, Logan; brother Wayne (Shirley) Webber, Dartmouth; and nephews, Hall, Bob and David Webber. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend of forty six years, Judy Young; and her very spoiled granddaughter, German shepherd, Mia. She was predeceased by her sister, Greta. Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, pcw’s and staff of 5A and 6A VG Site, QEII for the compassionate care during her courageous battle. As well as her cousin, Linda and husband James for their support. Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 16th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 17 at 10:30am at St. Theresa’s Church on North Street with Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated.
