Just hearing of Kay's passing,(thru my daughter Sharon who cared  for Kay in her home) my condolences to all the family. She was a lovely kind lady and fondly remembered.

I was so saddened when I heard of Kay's passing and then realized that she is now at Peace and with her loving husband, Don. I will hold her and the rest of the family close to my heart Forever.

Dear Susan and family, I'm sad to have learned that Kay is no longer with us. She was an absolute 'cracker jack' in the best of ways. I loved her wit and humour, her courage, spunk and kindness. She and Don have done a wonderful job of passing their gifts along to the next generations. It has been my absolute pleasure to have known both she and Don. You are a great family and my thoughts are with you. Take care of each other.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Kay's passing. Kay was incredibly welcoming of friends whom her only daughter,Susan, brought home to the Whittemore household. I was truly fortunate to be counted among these friends and spent many sublimely happy hours conversing with Kay and Susan and Don about all manner of issues. Kay held court in her kitchen, often serving her delectable carrot cake and other gourmet delights, accompanied by tea, lots of love and laughter. Kay dispensed sage advice and could be relied upon for her supremely witty observations. She was a formidable nurse and champion for her patients. My husband, Greg, and I enjoyed many wonderful visits with Kay and with Susan and John.When our first son was born, we couldn't wait to go back to Halifax and show him off to Kay and Don. I have fond memories of Nicholas sitting on Kay's knees.When Susan served as my maid of honour for my wedding, and my wedding veil would not stay on before I was to depart for the church, it was Susan and Kay who came to my rescue with Kay's long white hair pins used for her nursing cap.

We will always smile when we remember Kay in our household.The legacy that she leaves behind, in Susan, in Sandy and David, is one that our family cherishes.
