It is with the saddest heart that the family of Kathleen (Kay) Elizabeth Mercer (Arsenault) must say goodbye to a most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law that there ever was. She left us on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia in 1924. Her parents and numerous brothers and sisters predeceased her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Maxwell Mercer, Kathleen Harris (Michael), Shelburne, Robert Anthony Mercer (Kelly), Beaver Bank, sister, Mrs. Isabelle Starr, Dartmouth, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and one special niece, Debbie Belong. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Riley and the nursing staff at the Roseway Hospital in Shelburne and all the VONS who have helped us along the way. A service will be held on Sunday, January 30th at 1:30 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531.
