Kelly was a woman of extraordinary strength, kindness, and grace. She faced every challenge with remarkable courage, unwavering determination, and a positive spirit that inspired everyone who knew her. Throughout her journey, she never lost her compassion for others, her sense of humor, or her ability to make those around her feel loved and valued.
Kelly's greatest gift was her ability to bring people together. She had a generous heart, a warm smile, an infectious laugh that everyone loved, and a caring nature that touched the lives of family, friends, neighbors, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her strength, resilience, and selflessness will remain an enduring inspiration to all who loved her.
Throughout her cancer journey, Kelly demonstrated remarkable courage and resilience. Even during the most difficult days, she remained focused on others, never losing her kindness, dignity, or appreciation for the people who surrounded her with love and support. She fought with determination and grace, inspiring everyone privileged enough to know her.
One of Kelly's greatest joys was traveling with David to Treasure Island, Florida, where they spent many wonderful vacations together. Over the years, those annual trips became much more than a getaway—they became a cherished tradition that allowed Kelly and David to build lasting friendships and create a second family in Florida. The memories, laughter, and friendships formed there brought Kelly immense happiness and will remain treasured by all who shared those special times with her.
Another cherished memory was fulfilling a lifelong bucket-list dream when Kelly and David embarked on a Mediterranean cruise, visiting Malta, Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Kelly often spoke of the breathtaking beauty of the places they explored and the unforgettable experiences they shared together. She said it was one of the most beautiful experiences of her life and was so grateful that they were able to make the journey together when they did. The memories of that special trip remained close to her heart and brought her joy throughout her life.
Kelly was also absolutely devoted to her beloved Golden Retriever, Lexi, who provided countless years of unconditional love, companionship, comfort, and joy. The bond they shared was truly special, and Lexi remained a constant source of happiness and support throughout Kelly's life.
Kelly was predeceased by her beloved parents, Dorothy "Dot" English and James English.
She leaves behind the love of her life and best friend, David Jabalee; her siblings, Shauna English, Sharon McPhee (Mel), Janis Cann (Lew), Jim English, and Blair English; many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Kelly and held a special place in their hearts; as well as countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, and friendship. Kelly was deeply loved by her family, who adored her fiercely, and she loved each of them immensely. The bond they shared will remain a cherished part of her legacy and a source of comfort in the memories they hold dear.
A special acknowledgment is extended to her dear friends, Tanya Gordon and Rosemary Raymond, who stood beside Kelly throughout her journey. Their unwavering friendship, support, compassion, and dedication helped her navigate some of life's most difficult moments. Their love and presence brought comfort and strength not only to Kelly but also to those who cared for her.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Kelly's legacy of love, courage, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be remembered not for the illness she fought so bravely, but for the incredible woman she was—strong, compassionate, thoughtful, and deeply loved.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her oncology team, Dr. Alwin Jayakumar and Nurse Brittney, and to the palliative care team, Dr. Stacey General and Nurse Meghan Summerfield, who provided Kelly with exceptional care, comfort, and compassion throughout her journey.
In accordance with Kelly's wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place on Saturday June 6, 2026 in J. A. Snow Funeral Home from 1-3 pm and a Celebration of Life Service will take place at 3:00pm on the same day and location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA. Kelly would also be honored by a simple act of kindness extended to someone in need, reflecting the compassion, generosity, and love that she shared so freely throughout her life.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
