

CUSTANCE, Kenneth Roderick – 72, of Hubley, Halifax County, N.S. passed away February 1, 2012 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Upper Rawdon, Hants Co., N.S., he was a son of the late Ray and Mildred (Wilson) Custance.
He retired from Halifax Water Commission after many years. He was a baseball coach in his younger years. Kenneth was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Doubleday); daughters Darlene (Roger) Foster of Hubbards, N.S., Tammy (Jerry) MacDonald of Timberlea, Dawn Custance of Hubley; sons Roddy Jr. Custance of B.C., Laurie (Heather) of Dartmouth, and Scott of B.C.; sisters Jane of Toronto, Ont., Joyce of Rawdon N.S., Dean of Rawdon, N.S., Heather of Noel, N.S.; brothers Stewart of Alberta, Wally of Rawdon N.S., Russell of Alberta, and Garnet of Alberta; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and extended Doubleday family.
Kenneth was predeceased by brothers Everett, Graham, John and Eric.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Tuesday, February 7th from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VON.
