

Kenneth Phillip Graham, age 71 of Halifax passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer December 2, 2014 at the Halifax Infirmary. He was the son of Anthony Graham and Helen McInnes. Better known as Ken, he was born in Windsor, ON, and moved to Halifax as an infant. There he started his formal education, which was completed in Montreal, Quebec,. During his high school years in Montreal, he was an accomplished ameteur boxer and achieved the Golden Gloves. He started his insurance career in Halifax, with the Halifax Insurance Company. After ten years in the Company ranks, he moved to the Agency side of the business with Simpson-Hurst Limited and after two years became a partner and Vice-President of the Company.
He was a member past and present of Ashburn Golf & Country Club and Gaspers, West Point Racquet Club, Waegwoltic Club, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, VP – The Insurance Institute of Canada, President-The Insurance Institute of Nova Scotia, Chairman of the Board-Trade Centre Limited, President- Canadian Progress Club (Halifax), Director-Halifax Better Business Bureau, Director- Investment property Owners Association of Nova Scotia, Vice Chairman- The Halifax Metro Centre, Lieutenant-Princess Louise Fuiliers, Director- Construction Association of Nova Scotia, Grand Knight- Knights of Columbus, St. Stephen’s Council 8666, Insurance Consultant - Halifax Clean Up Project .
Survived by his loving wife, Barbara Eldridge; sons, Paul and Alan Wetmore (Alexa); sister, Linda Auclair (Harve Melancon); brother, Robert Graham (Brenda), grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah, Max, and Maddy, and several nieces and nephews. Also extended family Michele Arsenault, and grandchildren, Madison, Zach, Hunter, and Gordon. Predeceased by his first wife, Faye Graham; daughter, Karen Lynn Graham; brother, Anthony Graham.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, (902-455-0531) on Thursday, December 4, from 3-5 and 6-8 pm. Memorial service will be held at Saint Agnes Church, Mumford Road on Friday, December 5 at 10 am. Interment in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
