Lillian Joan Giles

Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Mark Barrett and Edith (Allen) Barrett.

Joan previously worked at Sears for a number of years. In more recent years she cherished her role as “GG” to Kingslee and Everly. She was an active member of St. Philip’s Church for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Helen of Halifax; son, Bill (Carol) of Halifax; sister, Elsie Wheatley (late Ken), Greenwich; brothers, Mark Barrett (late Barb), Markham, ON, George (Meryl) Barrett, Melbourne, Australia; Les (Doreen) Barrett, New Minas; grandchildren, Matt (Angela Campbell) and Kayla (Brady Meade); great grandchildren, Kingslee and Everly. She was predeceased by her husband, William; son, David; sister, Evelyn (late Henry) Ford; sisters, Loretta and Gladys in childhood.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 14 from 4-7pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday April 15 at Apostles Anglican Church, 6670 Bayers Road, Halifax. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
