

PETERSON, Lloyd Edward, RCN, CPO Ret. Electrician – 90, of Bedford passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Cobequid Centre, Lower Sackville. Born in North Cobalt, Ontario December 2, 1919. He was the son of the late Charles and Svea(Westburg) Peterson.
Lloyd was a naval veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He served on many ships during his service overseas such as the HMCS Inch Aaron, HMCS Uganda, but his special ship was the HMCS Iroquois. After his discharge, he went to work at Motor Wheel in Ontario, and came back to Halifax to be near his daughter and family.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Patricia (Corey) Peterson, daughter Colleen (Don), stepdaughters Cheryl and Karen, stepson Gary (Bobbilee), sister Norma Fox, Williams Lake, B.C., brother Norman, London Ont., grandchildren Carla and Rod MacLeod, step-grandchildren Corey, Jesse, Paige, Autumn, and Jaida, great-grandchildren Katie and Donnie, and special grandsons Justin and Devon.
Lloyd was predeceased by first wife Dorothy Burns, sister Lily Ericson, and brother Rudolph.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 4th from 3-5 and 7-9pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax where a funeral service will be held Saturday, June 5th, at 11am in the chapel. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Garden.
