Born in the Philippines on March 24, 1980, Lloyd moved with his family to Halifax in 1984. Halifax became his lifelong home. It was a place where he built deep friendships, raised his son, and lived a life full of laughter.
Lloyd is survived by his mother Cecille Sepidoza, father Edwin Sepidoza, stepfather Sandy Myette, sister Caryn Sepidoza, his son Noah Baldwin Sepidoza who was the joy of his life, and close friend Nicole Baldwin. He will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins across Canada and the Philippines, as well as an extended circle of friends, some of whom walked beside him for more than 35 years and were, in every meaningful way, his family.
After graduating from Halifax West High School, Lloyd went to Dalhousie University, where he majored in Neuroscience. At the time of his passing, he was employed by CIBC. Lloyd built genuine connections everywhere he went. Those who knew him remember his loyalty, his easy humour, and the way he made room for others without hesitation.
Lloyd’s natural athletic ability was evident from the time he was young. He stood out in basketball, baseball, and football, not only for his talent but for the joy he brought to every game. That love of sport stayed with him throughout his life. In his later years, he found a deep passion for golf, embracing both its challenges and its quiet moments. Sports were woven into the fabric of his life; they grounded him, energized him, and created friendships that shaped his world.
Lloyd faced his cancer diagnosis with extraordinary resolve. He approached every stage of his illness with the same determination and inner strength that had defined him as an athlete. His courage, steady optimism, and refusal to give up hope were an inspiration to everyone around him.
Lloyd’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the QEII Health Sciences Centre, the Immunotherapy Institute in Mexico, and Halifax Hospice for their care and support throughout his journey.
His passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue in the laughter he sparked, the friendships he had, and the love he gave.
Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Thursday, February 5 from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax, on Friday, February 6 at 12:15 PM, with a reception to follow.
