

After attending school in New Glasgow, she moved to Halifax and trained as a registered nurse at the Victoria General Hospital, graduating in 1946. She worked with the VON in Halifax. Lois met and married Wilbert Lynds in Halifax in 1952. Early in their marriage they moved to Ontario and eventually settled in Streetsville where they made a home among a vibrant community of people, many of whom would become lifelong friends. She continued her nursing work in Ontario until the births of their three children. Lois, Wil and the children moved back to Nova Scotia in 1975. Lois enjoyed her home, family and friends very much, as well as her activities such as bowling and bridge. She was a member of Rotary Anne’s of Streetsville and Halifax Women of Rotary. Lois greatly enjoyed seeing her extended family at the annual Cameron Family Picnic.
She was predeceased by her husband Wilbert, and brothers Gordon, Donnie, James and Willard (Bill). Lois is survived by children Janet, Halifax; Shelley (Colin) Mann, Lunenburg; Grant (Daphne Maravei), Ottawa; and grandchildren Graham, Alex and Malcolm Mann, and Daniel and Nicholas Lynds. She is also survived by her sister, Jean (Gerry) Horne and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Church, Halifax on March 19, 2022 at 2 pm (proof of vaccination and ID required), with private burial at a later date. Family flowers only.
