

DEVEAU, Louis Alphonse “Louis” – 88 of Halifax, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 15, 2011 in the Abbie Lane QEII site. Born in Eel Brook, Yarmouth County, he was the son of the late Isaac B. and Chantal (Comeau) Deveau. Louis made a career in building quality homes in the local area and had a passion for building Churches. He was devoted to his loving wife and was totally unselfish in providing for the overall well being of his children and community. He loved working on his hobby of wood working in which he was meticulous. He is survived by Pauline, his loving wife of 67 years, a daughter, Lena (Bob Swinwood) of Windsor Junction; sons Marcel (Janet) of Halifax; Paul (Bonny) of Oakville, ON; sister Celine (Albert) Godin of Yarmouth. Louis was Grandpère to Mark, Nicole, Anthony, Matthew, Michelle, Andre and Great-grandpère to Braden. He was predeceased by two sons in infancy; sister Elsie Doucette and a brother Emile. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 18 at St. Catherine of Siena, 6476 Bayers Road at 11 a.m. with Father Franceso Pirisi officiating. A private family inurnment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the N.S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
