It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Louise. She left us peacefully at home on July 1, 2013, in the presence of her devoted husband George and cherished daughters Andrea (David Eaton) and Lindsay. Louise was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Clarke and Agnes (Stone) Clarke. She is survived by her sister Jean (Vince Whebby) and brother Paul (Andrea Drake), several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and in-laws.
Louise was a dedicated public servant for 37 years with Service Canada, mostly working with Employment Insurance. During this time she also completed her BA from MSVU and her MA from SMU and was an active volunteer for 15 years at the Veterans Memorial Hospital. In 2012, Louise was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her service to her peers, community and to Canada.
Louise was an avid gardener, quilter, artist and a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain with her delicious meals and beautiful desserts. She will be fondly remembered for her many celebrations that brought together family and friends.
Visitation will be held at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Sunday July 7 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm; Funeral Mass on Monday July 8 at 2 pm St Michael's Church, Herring Cove Road, Spryfield.
