

— 91, Halifax, passed away February 24, 2010, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in LaHave, she was the daughter of Rev. John F. McDonald, and Bessie Forsythe McDonald. Margaret, beloved mother and grandmother, was a long-time member of Red Cross Homemaker Service and the United Church of Canada. She enjoyed geneology, knitting, and long walks. She was an excellent knitter and provided beautiful sweaters, vests, and mittens for her whole family. Margaret loved gardening and excelled at growing begonias. She also enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles. She had a great sense of humour and made friends easily. She loved cats and dogs, but especially loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survived by daughters, Carolyn Jean Nicholson, Halifax; Elizabeth Nicholson, Halifax; Joan and Janice (her twins) Nicholson, South Rawdon, and son, John Donald Nicholson, Halifax; grandchildren, Lori (Carlo) Shimoon, Bedford; Andrea Cameron-Brown, Dartmouth; Sarah Nicholson, Toronto, Ont.; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jacob, and Dahven Shimoon, Bedford; niece, Elizabeth Thompson, Oakville, Ont., and nephew, Bruce McDonald, Alberta. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Willard Bruce Nicholson; brother, Bruce McDonald, and her parents. The family would like to express thanks to the doctors and nurses on 8.1. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. with funeral service at 3 p.m., both on Saturday, February 27, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax.
