— With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother. Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 22, 2010, at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Ilias and Anastasia Tsirigotis and was born in Velies, Greece. She was predeceased by our father, the late Nikolas Kalogeropoulos; sister, Argiro and brothers, Panayiotis, Sotiris, George and Dennis and her adored nephew, Ilias. She is survived by her children, Chrissa (Stratos), Alex (Dina) and Anastasia (Greg) and her precious grandchildren, Nikolas, Mia, Ben, Marley and Emanuel and brothers, Kyriakos (Theofano) and Vasilios (Tasia); sister-in-law, Koula; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom lived in Halifax most of her adult life and spent most of her time doting on her children and family. She spent countless hours in the kitchen doing what she did best, preparing incredible meals for her family. Our mother was truly an angel whose maternal instincts stayed with her even during the final stages of her illness. She will be most remembered for her incredibly sweet disposition, her selflessness and her devotion to her family. Mom truly encompassed all that is good. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Montgomery who looked after Mom for the last several years and also to Dr. Chris MacKnight who we feel went beyond the scope of his duties as her doctor. A special thanks to Kelsea who made Mom's last few weeks more comfortable with her compassion, soft touch and gentle demeanor. Visitation will be in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Thursday, February 25, 4-9 p.m. There will be a funeral service on Friday, February 26, in St. George's Greek Orthodox Church at 1 p.m., Father P. Maropoulos officiating. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. On-line condolences can be made to: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
