

GIBBONS, Marilyn Joan-75, of Halifax, passed away June 10, 2010, in the Christina and Hedley Ivany Place, Northwood, Bedford. Born in Toronto, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Kathleen Beaven. Marilyn was a Credit Manager for many years in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing industry, both in Toronto and Halifax. She was very devoted to her religion, and enjoyed her winters in Florida. Marilyn was a very devoted friend to all who knew her. Each year, she and her husband attended several performances of the Tattoo. Marilyn is survived by her son, Derek (Margaret) Hamm, Halifax; brothers, Paul (Gloria) Beaven, Robert (Gail) Beaven, both of Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Andrew Hamm, Bryan Hamm, Alexandria LeBlanc, and Rebecca Hamm; several nieces and nephews; and many close and devoted friends. She will be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Rambo. Marilyn was predeceased by husband, Douglas Ritchie Gibbons. Memorial service for Marilyn and Doug will be held Tuesday, June 15th at 2p.m. in West End Baptist Church, 1986 Preston St., Halifax, Pastor Nolan Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society.
