Marion, a cherished wife, mom, Nan, sister, and friend passed away peacefully in Bedford, with her loved ones by her side. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Marion was the daughter of Norman and Agnes Engram. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Bill, her daughters Kim (Lee) Williams and Sara (Jason) Tingley, and her greatest joys—her four cherished grandchildren: Ella, Sophie, Spencer, and Julia. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Cheryl Engram, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Fred Coll, her nieces and nephew, and extended family.
Marion’s career began at the Dalhousie University Registrar’s Office, where she met her lifelong partner, Bill. She later spent many years working with the Halifax Regional Police. Beyond her career, Marion gave generously of her time to her community, serving with the Waverley Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Girl Guides of Canada, and St. Thomas Anglican Church in Fall River.
Her joy in life was always found in her family—especially in her grandchildren, who were the light of her days. Marion also loved to travel, host lively gatherings, and never missed a chance to celebrate with good food and laughter. She will be remembered for her elaborate desserts, her tradition of always preparing more food than needed, and her readiness to be the first to help anyone in need.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Lewis Hall, especially Emily and Lauren, and to all of the wonderful caregivers at London Hall for their compassion and support.
A private family service will be held. Donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
Marion lived a life filled with love and generosity. Her kindness touched so many, and her family will forever cherish her in their hearts.
