
LOWE, Marjorie Jean, 86, of Dartmouth, passed away January 19, 2013 at Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Rose Anna Burns and Edwin Earl Pratt. She started work as a young woman at the rope factory and Moirs Chocolates and later she worked as a head cashier at Eatons. She retired to raise her children. Marjorie loved animals, especially her beloved Heidi, her companion for many years. Her hobbies included baking, reading and country music. In her younger years she was an avid sewer and graduated from home sewing at vocational school in Dartmouth. She is survived by daughters, Debra Bellefontaine, Hubbards and Cheryl Kennedy, Walton; son, Kevin Lowe, Regina; sister, Shirley, Boston; brothers, Billy, grandchildren, Galen, Jesse, and Sydney and great-granddaughter, Mya. Marjorie was predeceased by husband, William Alan in 2000 and son, Derek; sisters, Mildred and Audrey and brothers, George and Brian. The service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 11am in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Burial will be in Camp Hill Cemetery.
