

MALLOY, Marshall Gillis "Marsh"-It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marsh on January 14, 2010, in the QEII Stroke Unit. Born in Goldboro, December 10, 1918, he was the oldest child of the late Robert and Hattie (Hayes) Malloy. Marsh worked for the CNR for 37 years, retiring in 1978. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Beatrice "Bea" (Sutherland), son Donald "Don" (Karen), daughter Nancy Oickle; grandchildren, Lynn (Chris), Marshall (Kelly), Jason (Crystal), Scott (Natasja) Malloy, Travis (Leanne) Oickle, Lisa (Brian) Hutt; great-grandchildren, SherryLynn, Hunter, Shelbey, Keira, Jacob, and Evan; step-great-grandchildren, Amber, Hunter, and Derek; and brother Bill (Joyce), and his beloved cat Ginger. He was predeceased by brother Bert; sisters, Josephine and Jessie; stepmother, Ina (Smith); son-in-law Barry Oickle, and daughter-in-law Carrie Malloy. Marsh and Bea enjoyed many good years trailering at Rawdon Gold Mines and Beachbrook. They also enjoyed time spent with family and friends and Ginger in Isaacs Harbour. Visitations will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, halifax, NS on January 15 from 12-2pm, and also at Giffins Funeral Home, Country Harbour on January 16 at 12pm, with a funeral service at 1pm.
