Donalda, Morrow and dear sisters Cusack. I am deeply saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. In the relatively short time I knew your parents seeing them was always such a pleasure. My thoughts and condolences are with you all at this difficult time.

Mary was an amazing woman who lived her life well.  I loved hearing about her travel to Montreal to study dress design, her coming back to Nova Scotia to care for her mother and her meeting Bill at a dance (where he was apparently very impressed that she owned a car). She was so engaged with life, so kind and always on the go. We often talk about her gardening when we first moved to Fairview. She and my grandson Noah would investigate the earth worms she found.  We will always remember her strong voice, her smile, her hats, her red lipstick and her ever inquiring mind. She and Bill were two of the kindest people we have ever met.  They were models for good living. The world would be a better place if more of us followed their example.

I am so sorry for your loss and my deepest condolences go out to the family. Mary was my godmother and such a kind and loving person. As a teenage I can still vividly remember being in complete awe and amazement over Mary's boundless energy. She could do more in one day than most people could accomplish in a week. Mary was the type of person that once you met her you would never forget her. She truly was a one in a million person. Mary, you will be deeply missed.

Richard and I send sincere condolences to Pauline and family on the passing of your wonderful mother. Mary has left you with so many special memories and her long, good life is most certainly one to be celebrated.
Our encounters with Mary over the years bring back fond memories of a woman whose no-nonsense attitude was always accompanied by humour and laughter. Marilyn first met Mary at Pauline's wedding on San Juan Island. They teamed up to prepare food for the reception. Time was short and facilities limited. As is common among Nova Scotia and Newfoundland “girls”, the optimal blend of hard work and laughter accomplished the task. The other result was instant friendship and a life-long mutual affection and respect.
We made a special effort to see Mary when she was here in BC to visit Pauline. A favourite memory is the day we joined Mary on Pauline's sailboat for the annual Royal Vancouver Yacht Club Commodore’s Sail-Past and Salute. Not unsurprisingly for the RVYC, there was a very strict “crew” dress code for the event. There were seven of us, including Mary, lined up on the starboard rail for the salute, all dressed alike in navy blazers, white shirts, white pants, white gloves (for the ladies) and matching tams. We were all having fun and laughing at both our appearance and the somewhat anachronistic and unfamiliar exercise. Nonetheless, Mary did her best to keep us (and herself) under control enough to stand up straight and seriously return the Commodore’s salute as our turn came to sail past.  In common with  so many of her generation, Mary believed that maintaining a proper standard and behaving respectfully was always important.  It was a happy and memorable day.
We last saw Mary in 2019 at her home in Halifax the day before her birthday. Thank you, Donalda, for the lunch and making our visit possible.  Mary was as sharp and witty as ever.
We know that Mary’s soul has found a special and richly deserved place in Heaven. Indeed, Heaven may never be the same!

Mary was a special lady. She always welcomed us to her home with love and laughter.
One favourite memory is when Mary and Vernie came to Donald and Morrow’s apartment. They were dressed for Halloween.
Rubber boots, and hats and nary a word.
Oh what fun we had with Mary and her family.
She will be missed for sure.

I would like this time to acknowledge the passing of Mary Cusack and send our condolences to the family, My Mother Almira Scanlan woul like to express to her dearest friend over a portion of her life ,how much she looked up to Mary for strength, laughter and companionship at different periods in my mother's life ,especially in sewing and dress making ,which they both were very capable of creating such beautiful dresses over the years .,Also ,there time spent working together on projects and fund raisers for St Pius X Church in Fairview .Even though they haven't seen each other too much in recent years  it's always very sad to hear of an old friends passing ,Mom says she will meet up again with Mary in Heaven ,love Almira Scanlan  and  Family

We didn't know Mary personally. From the beautifully writtem memoriam, we see that she lived a remarkably full life. Through her daughter Leanne,  my former work colleague and friend,  we were aware of how much she meant to her family and the endless love they had for her.

One of Mary's adventures was as a Mary Kay Consultant and I had the pleasure of having her join my unit as an "adoptee".  She always brought joy, a smile and support to all our events. A true lady who positively affected the world around her, our condolences to you all.

I will never forget the night (as a little girl ready for bed) when Mary Isabel & Vernie (and Cusack-MacKenzie collective) arrived in Morristown hollow in a  flurry of excitement and activity. Bedtime was OFF and a party was ON! I knew aunt Vernie but who was this other dynamo running the show? They finished each others sentences and were on a mission! I was picked up and stood on the kitchen table, measurements taken, newspapers pulled out & turned into a sewing pattern. Isabel's machine  set up, scissors out and everything was moving. Conversation and chatter, laughs and libations, mom cooked and served appetizers. All the adults shared stories and laughs while I listened, watched and absorbed it all. By the end of the night I had a fully finished dress and purse for Marilyn & Mike's wedding! 
Years later and living in Halifax, I went to St Pius and made sure I wore beautiful hats just like Aunt Vern and Isabel. How lucky I am to have known these beautiful, strong and powerful women. I am so sorry for your loss but happy that dynamic duo is reunited in Heaven.

Pauline, Vicky, Donalda, and Leanne,  my heart felt condolences to you all.  Your mom was so full of life.  Always laughing, had a pot of soup or stew on the stove and always offering a bowl to whoever stopped in for a visit .
