
On October 18th, we said goodbye to a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend. Born in Truro, Feb. 9, 1947 along with her twin brother Sandy, she was the daughter of Harold and Muriel (Archibald) Dewar. She attended school in Truro and St. Joseph’s convent in Mabou Cape Breton before moving to Halifax to work for Maritime Tell&Tell and later marry. Liz had many interests which included sewing, knitting, reading, decorating, entertaining and painting. In 1988, after raising her family, Liz, opened “The Apple Tree” tole and decorative painting shop. Painting and teaching were her passions, and were both rewarding and fulfilling to her and allowed to many great painters and wonderful people. Liz is survived by her sons, Peter MacIntosh (husband to Aya) who resides in Kyoto Japan, and Marc MacIntosh (husband to Erin and father to Lochlan) who resides in Boston Mass.; her sister Diane (wife to Patrick) Bourque, River Bourgeois, Sandy (husband to Natalia) Dewar of Wolfville, and five nieces, two nephews; six grand nieces; six grand nephews. Liz has been cremated and at her request there will be a celebration of Life held at the Waegwoltic Club, on 6549 Coburg Rd, Halifax, from 1-3 pm on Saturday October 29th of October.
