Mary Belle Grant

Grant, Mary Belle (MacIsaac) - Adelaide Ave., Halifax, in her 95th year. It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Belle Grant announces her peaceful passing at the Cobequid Community Health Centre on August 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Belle was born in Creignish, CB, in 1919 to the late John and Catherine Margaret (MacDonald) MacIsaac. Mary Belle worked hard and lived a simple life with her world revolving around her husband and children. Her door was always open to whomever chose to cross her doorstep. Mary Belle was happiest when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and she will be so very sadly missed by all. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives for so long.

Mary Belle is survived by her sons and daughters, Carol (Roy) Kinghorn, Halifax, J. Dennis (Barb) Grant, Lower Sackville, David (Susan) Grant, and Colleen Grant, Halifax. Also survived by her granddaughters, Darlene (Ian Milley) Kinghorn, Kelly (Gord Clements) Grant, Mary Grant; grandsons, Paul (Cathy) Kinghorn, Scott (Sheri) Grant, Gregory (Lauren), Gerrad, and Duncan Grant and great granddaughters, Emma and Amanda Kinghorn and Caleigh Clements. Survived also by sister, Cecilia (Al) Davis, Leamington, ON; sisters-in-law, Isabel Grant, Long Point, CB, Kay and Marie Grant, Hamilton, ON, Sally MacIsaac, Creignish CB; brother-in-law, Grant MacDonald, Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Belle was predeceased by her husband, Duncan; daughter, Gail and son, Gregory. Also predeceased by sisters and brothers, Sarah MacDonald, D.A. MacIsaac, Kay Davidson, May Radchuck, Florence MacDonald, Alexander MacIsaac, Josephine MacDonald. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Peter McGuire and staff at the Cobequid Community Health Centre for their compassionate care and concern.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, 902-455-0531. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, August 27 at 10:30 am in Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive. Reception to follow. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Cobequid Community Health Centre.
